The rear of the main house as seen from the path along the canal. Windows facing over the canal to the west and the south are of tinted mirror glass for glare reduction and privacy; other external windows are of plain tinted glass. The line of figs in the right half of the photo gives excellent shade over the patio area.

House from by Gate

By the gate is an area of decorative paving material (adoquin), with space to park numerous vehicles. The main house is built off a large patio and situated to the left on entering the gate.

North Side of House

The north side of the house, showing the two sloping roofs with the walled flat section in between and skylights over the master bathroom. The central flat section of the roof (azotea) is easily accessible by a metal staircase, and gives tremendous views.

To the left is the patio, and to the right the canal; the hill of Tamándaro can be seen in the background.

The entrance from by the patio kitchen. The double teak doors are not only arched, but also curved to follow the masonry.

Front Entrance at Night

The path to the main house is lit by the security light at the gate and the first five of the 10 lights along the edge of the patio. These lights can be switched at the gate, by the patio WC, and by the switches either side of the doors to the house.
